Well it's not justpinball- arcades have suffered in general due to
how great home console/computer gaming has gotten. Back in the 80's
and even early 90's - sure, you enjoyed your Nintendo and Sega
consoles....but you still went to the arcade to get the TRUE
experience. The arcade version was always better. Now - it's
reverse...console games are light years better than arcades - better
graphics, surround sound, hi-def, motion controls, etc...why would a
kid even get excited about seeing Time Crisis or San Francisco Rush?
And - they've got PSP's, DS's, and Gameboys in their pockets! ...hell,
their cell phones play games!
But as forpinball....well, I think the general 'deathof the arcade'
has something to do w/ it - but also, lack of awareness, lack of
understanding, and games that DONT WORK. I went ice skating yesterday
in Burbank - they had a No Fear there...I put in some quarters to play
a few games...the right flipper was all noodley, the upper flipper
didn't work at all. A movie theater in Sherman Oaks used to have
NASCAR...the game was pitch black, cost $1 to play, and the right
flipper didn't work at all. If a game looks nice and shiney - people
are more likely to play than if it looks like a scary piece of crap

being a teanager i know what teens say and my friends all say pinball
why play that i can play that on my computer for free. when i tell
them its not the same they dont believe me. <untill they play my
games>. but i think thats the problem. you can play it on your pc for
free
I'm totally with you there. My friends (mostly 14 and 15) think it's the
most stupid thing ever, then they come try it and love it.

I have now turned probably half my neighbors onto the idea of buying a
pin. all my friends ask there parents to buy one then they ask me to
sell them one.
I only have one friend who really wants to buy one, but I have my other
friends at least playing them when we go bowling and stuff.
I wouldn't sell one to my friends, but I'd certainly help them find a good
deal.

my friends parents are always coming up to me saying whats a good game
and where can i buy it too. now my friends are scouts for me too if
they ever see a pin somewhere they call me immediatly.
