Re: bead blasting cabinet query...

By the way, that glass dust hanging in the air that you breath will
really mess up your lungs. And once it's out of the cabinet, it never
all gets cleaned up and continues to mess with you. A simple shop vac
is not sufficient to clean the air. You should go into a precleaner
tank, such as a large trash can first. The first trash can should
have a pvc tube near the edge of the lid, and this drop tube should
have an elbow on the lower end, say 4" below the lid. This tube
connects to the exhaust vent of the cabinet. In the center is another
pvc tube that connects to the shop vac, thereby creating a dust
cyclone. The lower end of the center tube should have a filter
cannister attached, similar to the one in the shop vac. Zero dust
will collect in the shop vac. It will all be collected in the cyclone
can.

If you aren't using a cyclone collector, you had better be using a
respirator mask with 2 micron or smaller filter. Remember, the glass
that collects in your lungs may never leave... and furthermore, once
the beads have blasted metal, they are no longer smooth beads, they
are fractured particles.
