I'm on my way over to his house tonite to pick up his WH2O. This
one's a Bob Antelman restoration. I've heard good things about his
work. Put it this way--if you buy the TOM, I might buy it from you
when you get sick of it. I've already got a nice Shadow.

heres the story. i am relativly new to the hobby and am realistically
only able to add 1 machine a year to my collection. i have ran across
a local collector who is downsizing his collection and has several
machines available. all the machines are collector quality and seller
is super nice (and is only 5 minutes from my house! and are all
reasonably priced) i have narrowed it down to the above mentioned
machines based on budget and overall theme appeal.
problem is out of the 4, i have only had the oportunity to play tom
for any length of time and believe it is only reasonable to ask the
seleer to let me in his home to play the other 3 for a hour or so
(which i will do) so i am seeking the help and opinions of the group!!
a little background info:
1.i currently have 3 machines in my collection (jm, totan, and jy)
2. i always prefer fast paced, high action games to slow games
3. the only reason swe1 is included is because my kids (5 and 6) are
huge star wars fans
4. cftbl is a treasure cove restore and shadow is clearcoated and
plated. the other 2 are in great shape!
5. i am not an expert player (i do my best)
the others he has for sale that are in my budget are sttng,cp,taf, and
ij
any opinions will be very appriciated thank you mohog454 az
Why not skip the "collector quality" stuff and get two pins you could
make "collector quality" through your own elbow grease. Not trying to
flame, I understand if you don't have the time but it seems that if
you want to add more pins you could easily get two nice pins for what
a TC restore is going to run you.
Good luck either way. Personally would skip the SWE1 unless just
getting it for the kids, I havent played a TOM so no advice on that
but both CFTBL and Shadow have been fun when I played them.
I own both TAF and STTNG. TAF is a great game and worthy of being in
your collection, it is the most played pin I have and is a family
favorite,STTNG is a great ass-kicking game, mine is so fast I dont
even see the ball drain. Nice group of pins to choose from.

i do like to have nice machines and i went the restore route with
totan. after i was done, i figure i spent more than a tc restore would
cost and what this seller is asking for the tc restore is extremly
reasonable figure bv + about 15% or so. i really enjoyed tom when i
got to play it for about 2 hours one day although the most frequent
opinion here is it doesnt hold interest so this scares me a little! i
am leaning toward either the creature or shadow both are beautiful
however the shadow is like 1k less!! thanks for the opinions keep em
coming mohog454 az- Hide quoted text -

Go for the Shadow. It is a great game that is very challenging. TOM
and Creature get old fast. IJ and TAF are great games as well.
