You may consider replacing BR2 at the same time, since they share the same

Or, cut the heatsink in half after removing it, clean the heatsink and

I'm no longer recommending that approach.
Cutting the heat sink into two pieces causes
another problem.
When the heat sink is a single unit, it provides
"rigidcy" (is that a word?) to BR1 and BR2.
They are a single unit, with 8 attachment
points to the board.
If you cut the heat sink in half, now BR1 and BR2
can "float" more, and i believe you will end up with
more cracked plated-thru holes in the circuit
board, where the bridges attach.
Sorry, need to continue that idea...
because of the added weight of the
heat sink(s), they act like a lever.
So when you have the BR1/BR2
heat sink cut into 2 pieces, you have
this added weight bouncing about
(high vibration environment), and
this causes the plated thru holes
in the circuit board (where the bridges
attach) to crack.
If the plated thru holes crack (and
no jumpers are installed), you will
get the classic, "hit both flippers and
game reboots", problem.
Keeping BR1/BR2's heat sink in a
single unit, in my eye, causes less
of a problem in this regard (because
it's more rigid due to the 8 attachment
points).
