Tiger is SO CHEAP!!!

He'll pay thousands for a pin but ask him to support the hobby and keep up
with obvious inflation (as Frenchy explained) and now he treats quarters
like manhole covers... I can see him counting his quarters like a cheap
knaving Ferengi weasel on Star Trek, all hunched over like a little squirrel
with a peanut. Not only is he responsible for killing the arcades, not only
is he hurting the only pinball maker left in existence, but he's also a
bottom poster!!!

Good riddance to bad rubbish I say. Tiger, you're dead to me, this is as far
as we go. We're done.

I'd pay .75 or even $1 to play a hot new pin like Spidey.

I'll see you in hell sir where you will have NO quarters to cherish, Karl.

Um, sorry...If I see a machine for $1.00 per play I'm gonna pass. I
understand ops gotta make money, but I just don't see a game being
worth that much. I can't tell you how many times I've found a machine
that needs a good cleaning and of all things, the flipper rubbers
replaced...something so simple. My other beef of on-location pins is
when the card says 5 plays for $2.00 and you only get 4! Again, I'm
not an operator and I know they gotta make a living, but there's no
way in hell I'm paying $1.00 a game when chances are the flippers are
weak and the tilt is way too sensitive. A local pizza place just went
from .50 to . 75 cents and whenever I go in there no one is playing
the games. They just put in a cherry TOM that should be in a
collectors home and a nice MM, but the flippers weren't strong enough
to make the ramps. Useless. I honestly think that particular op is
handicapping the machine on purpose out of hype of the machine and to
save on wear 'n tear. Sorry, you're not getting my 75 cents and nobody
is ever getting a buck out of me unless it's a rare BBB. Yes, I did
throw the coin into the Pinball Circus at the PHOF but only because
of it's rarity and yes, it was booooring. Ooops, I've had a few beers.
Enjoy and sorry for the rant!- Hide quoted text -

$1.00 per play? No way. $.50 is tops. Pinball is fun but like other
things, it has limits. If I see it priced at more then $.50 per play
I keep walking.

Thats also why I have so many pins. I rarely ever pay to play. In
the past 2 yrs, I have payed 4 times to play. One was $.25 and 3 were
$.50. No machine is worth more than $.50 in any condition. Its not
like NIB's cost more now or 10 yrs ago.- Hide quoted text -

This is as far as we go?? I never knew we went anywhere...... :)

I do like your comparison of me to a Ferengi. Thats funny :)

Just for reference, I support this hobby and the pinball business as a
whole in other ways that plunking down quarters in machines. Just
because I wont pay the $.75 or $1.00 per game does not mean I dont
support pinball. I am ver passionate about pinball and about the
gaming hobby in general. I spend 50-60 hrs a week outside my normal
day to day job on pins and vids. it ranges from shopping out pins for
friends, helping out first time buyers with their games, finding games
stored in Op's warehouse and then bringing them back to their former
glory. Most of the time I do this for my cost or when helping out
friends, I do this for free. Most of my friends can attest, I offer
to spend time helping them for nothing. they do the same for me. I
try to put pinballs in the hands of first time buyers for as little as
I can in hopes they will find the pinball bug and keep buying like I
do. I do this for the love of the game and the enjoyment of meeting
folks. Not for the gluttony of money.

So before you judge me Karl, get to know me :) Just because I wont
plunk down the $.75 or $1.00 does not mean I dont support the hobby :)
I just choose to do it in more prouctive ways than hand money to
operators who are, for the most part, unable to maintain their
machines. (No offense meant to LTG who I know does a DAMN fine job of
taking care of his games!)
