Well....that explains it! Wrong cap, Thanks for that information!! I
suppose at sometime somebody must've changed the cap. HAHA
Scott, I am not sure what you mean... my machine has a "electronic"
tone sound when it scores. Not really a "chime" like a door bell but a
sound that comes from a speaker. Is that what you mean?? I have held
down the ring that "fires" the ball, and I still do not get a chime,
or score sound Do you think that if fires the ball away before it has
a chance to "chime"? I cleaned the contact with only paper. That is
the only "solenoid" that does not chime when scored on. DO you mean I
need to "SLAM" the ball into the pop? I wonder if closing the gap on
the contacts would help?? they seem pretty wide, although, they do
close when activated by the solenoid. Maybe they aren't contacting
good enough?
The way I understand this to work is, the score sound works by when
the ball hits the pop, the solenoid goes down to fire the ball out,
when this goes down, it also closes the "sound" contact. correct? I
will look into this more tomorrow.
Thanks again for letting me know about the incorrect cap. Sure did
save me a lot of trouble.
Jim
