I was trying to counter the targets moving upward when hit hard, thus
the one stacked rubber where the targets hit the bottom of them and
get pushed down instead of just bouncing off an even row of rubbers.
Yes SR said the bar was forced on him and didn't want it. I don't
know if the posts would prevent no-drops like I'm seeing with this but
it's possible, I'm sure this rubber thing isn't the only solution but
it was a quick fix and is working. I know I was still having no-drops
with the bar in place. I don't know what the whole bar-vs-posts thing
was really about in the first place for Stern - airballs? Targets
breaking? Or dropping reliability?
Has anybody out there put the posts on and improved dropping compared
to either leaving the bar or removing it and adding some rings?

I haven't done any mods to mine in this area. I do get the occasional
taget that stays up if the ball cranks it, so I appreciate all the leg
work you're doing regarding possible fixes. I do like the way the DT
resets are strong enough to re-directs balls ALA the magnets in TAF.
Are you saying you made the coils stronger or weaker by removing the
50-windings?>

It added about 10% to the punch of the coil as after the spring mod I
would occasionally get resets where none of the targets would latch
from the extra tension.
I realize this is not a earth-shattering glitch especially for drop
targets where even Bally had a problem with this no-drop glitch, but
if there's one thing I HATE on a pin is hitting something solid and it
doesn't register (Palintir target on LOTR was another bug up my bum
till the fix was discovered and diseminated.)
