I wasn't excited at all by Pirates. Don't like the movies. Wasn't that
Nordman's first Stern after a layoff from designing for a while? I'm not
sure who headed up the code. So I agree that game had too much against it to
preorder for me as well.

Mr. Ritchis is the most popular (i.e. highest selling) designer in the solid
state era. Many of his games are among my faves. Mr. Sheats is a
world-champion player and knows a little bit about making games fun for all
players and exploiting a boardset he designed. Spiderman is a theme on par
with (if not above) both Simps and Rings, and is "family friendly". The
design team has been given enough creative leeway and time to develop the
best package possible.

I'm not trying to say this will be the best Stern yet. What I *am* saying is
that it *will* be better than Mnply. That was the comparison I was making.
Whether it tops 'Rings or Simps is yet to be determined, but I am confident
it will be Stern's third best game at worst for me, understanding that I am
a Marvel/Spidey fan and will have a theme bias.

And what gives you the notion I wear pants all the time, anyway? ;)

Once upon a time, long ago, there was this game coming out callled
Pirates of the Carribean. For no good reason, everyone suddenly became
VERY stupid before it came out. They started talking like pirates.
Arrrrh and all that ***. It was insufferable. Then, people got even
STUPIDER if that's possible to imagine. They started placing pre-
orders and ordaining this the BEST GAME EVER! before anyone had even
seen a photo beyond the cabinet.

And then something funny happened....

The game sucked ass!! It really blew. Boring playfield, nothing from
the movie besides the art. Anybody who knows better than to press both
flipper buttons at once could have a 30 minute game.

All I'm saying is keep your pants on people.
