It shouldn't be hard to find where you're losing voltage. Leave the
plugs in place. It does you no good to test this with no load. One
lead on ground, the other on pin 9 of J121. Do you have 7vac? No, head
back into the circuit to find where you do because other strings are
working so you know 7vac is there somewhere. Head back to each end of
F108, then back to pin 6 of J115, then back to the plug near the
transformer. Somewhere you'll find voltage, then it will be an easy
repair. Remember "devide and conquer". You have to find the open
circuit.

For the testing I'm using pin 1 2 or 3 as the neutral side of J115 and I get
7vac on pin 6 of J115, both sides of the fuse and pin 9 of J120- all this

the triac side is fine- verified by my jumping the pin from Pin 10 on J121
to pin 9 and it works.

As it is load related I reckon its time to test with my GE44 rig, the ac
direct from the transformer? I have had the fuse out but I'll check it again
for loose caps

Ok let me get the facts here. You should the lighting cam good when
you shorted pins 9 & 10 Together.

So there is nothing wrong with the Triac because the triac is the part
that sinks the ground on the lighting string.
You are right about one thing. It will be a problem underload. A lot
of people fall into this trap. They measure a circuit while not in
operation and it all looks fine.

Make sure your mutilmeter is selected to AC volts. The machine turned
on!

1. Measure on pin 6 of J115. Should be 6 Volts AC. If not then you
will have a problems with that plug or the plug on the transformer in
the bottom of the cabinet.

2. If thats ok next measure for the same voltage on the left hand side
of the fuse F108. Make sure you measure on the fuse holder not the
fuse.

3. If thats ok then measure on the right hand side of the Fuse holder
for the same voltage.( Never check a fuse just by looking at it ALWAYS
use a mutimeter, fuses can look fine but be broken at the ends where
you can see. Also if you can twist the fuse end caps, then it farked
and throw it in the bin.

4. Measure for 6 VAC on pin 9 of J 121.
