Don't know much as this machine.
But the opto board must get 5 volts from somewhere. Either the driver
board or its own regulator on the opto board itself.
If it gets the 5 volts from the driver board, make sure the connection
is ok.

When you overhauled the driver board you may have a problem with a
thru hole connection on the printed circuit board.
For example there will be one or more tracks leading away from a
solder joint above and below the printed circuit board.
Just something to check.

Sorry running blind here don't have a manual for this machine.
I would definately check those solder joints of yours first!
