Look, Gene has money beyond all this, I think that's obvious and not
for dispute.

This wasn't about "business" or money for Gene, I don't think it ever
was. Think about it, how cool would it be to if you able to do a
project like this. If I could afford to do it, I would've - to be
able to say "I did this".

Plus I think from our perspective it looks easy, I think Gene (and
Wayne) found out that building machines is harder than it seems.
Williams, Gottlieb, Stern etc had things "worked out" a long time ago.

I have never met Gene, in fact that interview on TopCast was the first
time I have heard him speak. When this all started there was so much
negativity about Gene I didn't think he would do it. But he did. Was
he late? Sure... WAY LATE, but he did what he said he was going to
do. You have to give the man his props.

On other topic... Joe... I just HAVE to ask (even if it makes me a
weenie)... any relation to Bob? :)

That commands my respect and thanks. He saw the project through and
deserves a big
tip of the hat from everyone for doing what he's done - those who had
faith and purchased and
will reap the rewards and those who did not as well. Why ?, because
he's raised the bar and who knows
what other challenges others might want to undertake due to this
success.

It simply proves that repro pins under Gene's business plan will lose money.

Unless of course you want to be charitable. That is ok too.

It makes no business sense.

It's all good for
the hobby. Start thanking the people who put thier money where their
mouth is, stick thier neck out,
do things no one else has done, and do things not just to profit.

Actually, do something to lose money. That is fine if you are feeling
charitable, but as a business, it's a loser.

It's an admirable thing no matter
how you slice it.

If you slice it as a case study of business, it gets an F.

It doesn't matter who he's pissed off in past or why... He pulled
rabbit out of his hat.

Apparently at great personal expense.

Gene's a hero. Get used to it.
