Re: Q: ANYONE HAVING LUCK OR SUCCESS CHARGING MORE THAN .50 PER PLAY?

I've always marveled at the mindset of a lot of people that come in my
place. Blow 50 to 100 dollars on food and movie before they even get here,
and then bitch about 50¢ a game for pinball or $6 an hour for pool. I just
hope the places getting their money before they get here, get some of the
bitching too. LTG :)

It's funny how cheap we humans can be. This is not directed at anyone
specifically, I just mean generally. We waste money constantly that we
don't think much about--- like gym memberships we don't use, cellphone
features we pay for but don't need, extra TV channels we don't watch,
commuting long distances in big SUVs instead of more fuel-efficient
vehicles. Going out to dinner and having 2 beers instead of one or
none. Not buying thermostats on timers so we can lower the heat or A/C
automatically when we're not home. Paying more than we have to for
insurance. (I just had all my insurances requoted by a company that
specializes in contracting businesses and will start saving a LOT of
money starting April 1.)

I think darn near everyone, including me, has money leaking out of our
accounts every month to somewhere, when we could avoid it. But we
accept it, to an extent, even if it's hundreds of dollars.

But if we show up to a location to play pin and the price goes to $.75
a game, we're gonna flip about it? I bet if Lloyd raised prices on
every pin he has, and I play there 3-6 times a week, it would only
raise my location pinball expense by $200 a year. I spent close to
that in small tools, polishing supplies, etc., just to have the right
stuff to maintain my Funhouse when I got it.

In fact, the price increase might cause me to try harder, win more
free games, and thus end up getting MORE pinball for my dollar!

Anyway, not meant to offend anyone. I just think businesses' pricing
should always be based on what it costs them to do business. I have no
idea why operators didn't all just start charging $.75 years ago. It
costs what it costs to be in business-- it's not your fault. Charge
me. I want Lloyd's place to be here for many more years to come. :-)
