sounds like trouble, i wouldnt leave power on for long like that. if
you dont have a schematic you might have to chase those wires to see
where they go. nice looking machine and only 700 made. someththing is
grounding the coils out and you gotta find it. if you had a schematic
and could post it would be a big help. i have one williams em, i will
chase the coil wires to see where they go and let you know.

you gotta find out from what relay power comes from to the coils. both
coils energized at the same time doesnt sound right. what machine is
this?? does it have a reset bank? what happens if you manually turn
the stepper and put power on, you know like you put about 5 credits in
it??

take the screws out of the unit and turn it around, physically operate
the coil plungers to make sure it steps up and down like its supposed
to. if it doesnt work properly in your hands, it wont work properly
with power. make sure switches that ride make and break correctlly
when they are supposed to.

I have gone thru Marvins site and part of it isn' t coming up right
now, but I am trying to get an old game to start up. For some reason
the ball counter stepper does work but it makes a hell of a lot of
noise, then it goes down to the next stepper and it's screaming too.
The kind of noise of when you put you hand on it, it settles down a
bit, almost like a VERY BAD vibration. I do have a long stack of
relays that one very big coil operates and I have YET to see it reset.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks
Steve

With the Power off the steppers in question work great. I can push on
the step up side and then I can push the reset side and they work
great..It's only when Power is applied that they start yelling at me
and vibrating.

The machine is a 1961 Wms Metro. The wires to the coil is what I am
thinking myself. Right now I put 5 credits on it..the reset bank..yes
it has one and I haven't seen it reset yet. I do manually and I
finally get to the point that the resets and is ready to play. Which
is a long way since the day I bought it. But the ball count stepper
and special stepper just scream like hell.

Please note that IE, of course doesn't play to well with some of my
CSS commands. It looks much better in Safari and FireFox.

Thanks again
