Re: TECH:Baby Pac Man Solenoid issue

Is the dip switch at 16 set for pinball only? Won't get video if so.
For the switches try unplugging/replugging the big molexes and don't overlook the one on the left hidden up by the cp. stuck solenoids means a shorted transistor or a stuck switch. Missing a bunch of lamps is not uncommon with those horrid Bally sockets. The inner fingers of the socket that grab the bulb are not connected to the tabs that the wiring is soldered to. They merely rely on a friction fit inside the socket housing so over time the fingers spread apart from the solder tabs. Sometimes you can fix them by pulling tabs out with pliers, pretension the fingers outwards and then push the tabs back in making a better connection. If the housing is overheated and shot, forget it. Find some new sockets. But that's not all, folks. The 2n5060 scr's that drive the lamps are notorious for dying as well so don't count them out. The funny thing with them is that the lamp can be either stuck on or stuck off, depending on the state of the scr when it died.

O.k., So my baby pac worked fine but occasionally had to mess with
connectors as pins were worn badly. I replaced all header pins and
connectors on all three boards with crimp on molex style and got rid of
all the IDC ones. Now when I start it up I get all the correct flashes
and when I pull up comm.screen I get all correct numbers in both
columns however I get no video game and my left saucer solenoid is
constantly pulled in and making a surging noise. when I go to test
screen all solenoids operate properly but none of my rollover swithces
register and I get a code 8 which tells me that the left spinner is
stuck but the contacts aren't even touching. I
am missing a bunch of light bulbs but I don't think that should affect
anything. I tried another lamp/solenoid board and got same issues so I
don't think it is the board. All fuses are good, unless I leave on to
long with that left saucer acting funny then I blow the slo-blow 1 amp
fuse under the playfield. Heeeeelp please.
