Check this out:

It is not exactly the same, but close enough that you should be able to
sort it out.
UNPLUG THE GAME when you work on this.

Someone else also mentioned the Varistor. I have NO idea what that is.
What is a Varistor?
Thanks!

Check the MOV/Varistor in the power switch box
At least, I assume they still used these in P2K?

I was in the basement, enjoying a nice game of Pinball 2000, when all of a
sudden...BLAMMO! All the lights went off, and a distinct smell of burnt
components fills the room.
See, apparently, in the basement, I can not tell when there's a severe
thunderstorm outside. Something hit very close. The power came back on,
but the SWE1 did not. I tried the power switch, and nothing. Dead. I
checked all the fuses with a meter (man there's alot of them!!) and they
all are ok. I thought the power supply may have gone bad, so I replaced
that with a spare I had. Still nothing. I replaced the CPU with a spare I
had, and nothing. I also switched the power cord with another I had and
that produced no signs of life either.
I discovered the burnt component smell was from the ran relays in our
Lutron Homeworks system. The ceiling fans did not work after the outage
either, so those were done. I replaced these components and the lighting
system is good to go now (not that anyone cares, just a side note) but
the SWE1 is still DOA.
Any ideas on what else I could try? I did verify that the outlet the
machine is plugged into is functional, which it is.
Please e-mail me at wmspins@xxxxxxxxxxx if you have any ideas. FWIW, the
Black Knight machine I had plugged into the same outlet seems to be fine,
or at least no worse then before the power went out.
Thanks in advance,
Chris
