Re: Attention Ebay sellers: Correct definition of mint.

Sorry to be the spelling police, but in this usage, it's wear, not
ware. And just in case I screw up, I am dislexic, and sometimes I
don't catch all my errors.

More on topic, I agree, but you see it everywhere. My ex and I used to
collect Fiestaware dishes, and mint usually meant it just didn't have
any huge chunks missing. It's abused on Ebay, Mr. Pinball and walk-in
stores everywhere. I ignore most people that say mint, and assume the
usual rose colored condition assesment sellers seem to have these days.

Twice this week I have looked at pinballs on Ebay that were listed as
"mint" in the title. After looking at the pics, I found the pins to
have scratches, playfield ware, graffitti cabinets, rotted rubbers, and
blemishes in the backglass. Now, I contacted one of these guys for a
friend that was interested but wanted my opinion. When I did, the
seller (sirpinball) in Maryland sent a derogatory e-mail that he wont
sell to know-nothing rednecks in texas. Okay cool. Last time I
checked our money was just as green. Anyways, the point I would like
to make is that "mint" means no scratches, ware, flaking backglass, or
for that matter any signs of being used. Can I get an opinion from the
RGP crowd? Is it okay to sell used pins with scratches and ware as
mint? if so, I have some mint parts machines piled up I need to start
selling.
