Twice this week I have looked at pinballs on Ebay that were listed as
"mint" in the title. After looking at the pics, I found the pins to
have scratches, playfield ware, graffitti cabinets, rotted rubbers, and
blemishes in the backglass. Now, I contacted one of these guys for a
friend that was interested but wanted my opinion. When I did, the
seller (sirpinball) in Maryland sent a derogatory e-mail that he wont
sell to know-nothing rednecks in texas. Okay cool. Last time I
checked our money was just as green. Anyways, the point I would like
to make is that "mint" means no scratches, ware, flaking backglass, or
for that matter any signs of being used. Can I get an opinion from the
RGP crowd? Is it okay to sell used pins with scratches and ware as
mint? if so, I have some mint parts machines piled up I need to start
selling.
A machine can be called mint, even if it has scratches on the cabinet..
You have to take into consideration the fact that most pinball machines
are 20 plus years old. Almost all machines out there are gonna have
some kind of wear. Mint, in my mind, is what you make of it. I feel
as if all of my machines are mint, but others wouldn't think so. So,
you must be just super picky, or I must be, but i know i am not.. so it
must be you.
