Re: Genco South Pacific, and general EM questions...

Thanks for the Tip on Crow River, I had never seen that site! I am hoping
someone parted a game out and has a used one, other wise, I will order one
for sure!

That sounds like how I had the timer figured, so that is good. And it also
seems unlikely that you can out last the timer, the game is a Drain Monster!
hehehe

Thanks for the reply!

Hi Dave,
South Pacific is a great looking game. I had one in the 2005 calendar
and thought it'd be a neat game to own with all those kick-out holes.

I believe you can order a coin mech. from Crowriver.

As far as the timer goes, when it's done you're done. So in theory a
game could end prematurely. Your game can also stay powered up for a
little while after you're done playing. I had a Genco Trade winds and I
never seemed to run out of time unless I walked away from the game for
something.

I believe this should be a five ball game even though I think only four
fit in the trough. One sits on top of the other balls. There is nothing
to prevent you from playing more than one ball. Yay, multiball. Kids
always seem to like to do this for some reason.

Not sure about the EOS switch or diverter.
Thanks,
Alex

I finally had a chance to have a look at the Genco South Pacific I picked
up
back in February. There was a few stuck relays and switches, and a broken
switch blade and a few wires that had come off. So, for a few hours of
figuring out what did and didn't work, I have a game that is pretty much
working. This is the first EM I have worked on, so bear that in mind as I
ask these questions...

There is what looks like an EOS switch in the middle of the flipper bar
(Both buttons move the flippers together, no difference from one button
to
the other. This EOS switch was bent to never close, I assumed that is
wrong,
and adjusted it to close, is this right?

The Coin Mech is broken, Physically broken as in someone pushed it really
hard with out a coin and broke it. Anybody have one of these??

How does the game know that it is over?? Meaning the last ball goes down
the
drain, but the game still has power? Flippers still flip but no ball to
play. OK, Wait... If I don't have the coin door relay hooked up, the game
powers off when the "Timer" runs down. Does this mean if you are still
playing and it times out, the game ends anyway? Possibly something to do
with the mech being broken.

How many balls are supposed to be in the game?

There is what looks like it would be a spring loaded diverter in the
trough,
there is no spring on it so it just sits there, is this what keeps you
from
allowing more than one ball being in play at once? again, How many balls
are
supposed to be in the game?
