Re: Need an opinion quick!!!

No, that's not the rule of email. The rule is if he commits to buying
and you say ok, the item is sold, even if people offer you more before
the actual transaction is concluded. I, personally, have kept to this
rule several times when people have offered me, in one extreme case,
double my $300 asking price for an item.

Being first to inquire and ask for pictures doesn't allow you to hold
the seller hostage awaiting your offer.

So I should sell it to him for $180? That is the rule of e-mail? Ask
for pics, offer less than asking price following day, and you win???

Not only that, BUT you told the guy he was first in line. Word means
more than the almighty $ in this case.

1st buyer never offered anything for it yesterday. He wanted pics!

When I see someone post something I need I just e-mail and say I'll
take it if they gave a description of condition of item and are a
frequent poster. That's what 2nd buyer did yesterday. He never asked
for pics. I was just being anal and wanted pics out before I sold it
because it is not in perfect condition, but I felt it was still a good
deal!!!

Your ad yesterday said "$200 O.B.O." If the first guy had offered you
$200 immediately, I'd say that you'd have been ethically bound to sell
it to him. Since he offered you less, though, you're free to sell it
to someone else for more money without losing any sleep over it. Being
first in line didn't give #1 the right to match any subsequent offers,
or even to later offer to pay you full price.
