Re: I love burning ROMS!

I tried all that and made sure my parallel port in CMOS was set to
standard and could RARELY ever get anything to burn properly. My
system is pretty clean too and I even set the priority of PP2.exe to
high, but got the same results. Oh well. I don't burn THAT many ROMs
so having to hook up a W98 hard drive in the laptop isn't that big of a
deal for me.

Apparently xtronics doesn't support the DOS software at all and I
couldn't get that to work at all - it won't even detect my PP2 as being
connected.

I'm curious - what OS are you using with the PP2? I could not get mine
to work reliably on XP so I finally put Win98SE on a second HD I had
for my older laptop and set the parallel port ot Standard and it seems
to work fine now.

I am using Widows XP on a HP laptop. I basically disabled all running
software (even messengers) and removed my wireless NIC card. If you
use anti-virus software that must also be disabled from what I
understand. I really have not burned enough chips to say if that is a
100% solution but so far so good!
