Thanks for the explanation Rob, but since T2 does not have a switch
gate, how did you secure it against this wall flexing?

It's not the protectors that are the issue. Certainly they help to a
certain degree, but
the real reason the ramp cracks is that the entrance walls 'flex' everytime
the ball bounces into
them. This causes cracks to develop and spread from the corners. Some
ramps have a switch
gate over the entrance which helps make everything more secure, but tapping
screws only tighten
so much before stripping. I replace the tapping screws with threaded
screws, washers and locknuts.
This eliminates almost all the flex and prevents cracking from happening or
getting worse. Better yet,
you don't have to worry about the switch gate coming loose from stripped
screws. I did this on my
TZ. You can see the pics at http://flight-2k.tripod.com/ (It's a page I
made a long time ago)

T2 has factory stock ramp protectors at the entrance of the right ramp,
yet this ramp cracks all the time as shown by 57 hits when googling T2
cracked ramp. I'm in conversations with Cliffy right now regarding an
aftermarket protector to prevent this, but we don't know what is
causing the cracking to begin with (especially since the ramp *already*
has protectors!)
Please chime in as to why these factory protectors do not seem to work
and what type of aftermarket protector may do the job.
Thanks in advance for any insights and suggestions.
