IIRC, you'll have 3 runs of wires to unplug from the the boards. Open up the
back box and trace the wires as they come up thru the bottom of the head,
unplug each connector from the boards that are attached to the wire bundles.
If you want, take a sharpie marker with you and label each connector you
remove. For example, You can put a "1" on the first connector itself and a
"1" on the board right next to it's connector position and so on. You may
have to unscrew a few plastic wire keepers to get them off the backbox. Then
just push the wire bundles down into the lower cabinet.
There should be a ground strap(braided) that comes up thru the hole in the
bottom of the head and is usually attached by a screw to the ground braid in
the head. This needs to be unfastened also.
Remove the bolts in the bottom of the head but be careful. With the doors
open the head will want to fall forward. It helps to have someone else there
to support the head while you do this but it can be done alone.
Once bolts are removed, close and lock the doors. Then carefully lift the
head off the body and set it down.
The rest will be obvious.
Remember when you set it back up to pull the electrical cord out of the body
prior to reinstalling the head and be sure to reconnect that ground braid.
Good luck!

Sorry for the novice question here, but......
I am going to be picking up my first pinball machine from a private
owner and need to haul it in my van (Honda Odyssey). How difficult is
it to separate the back box from the base? Is it just a few bolts?
What about the wiring? Should I just leave the wires attached.
I plan on taking blankets and laying the back on top of the base with
blankets inbetween......
I assume removing the legs is pretty straight forward.....
Any advise would be appreciated.
TIA,
Greg
