Who is Mike??? I thought the crooks name was Greg (mrcrazy on ebay).
Sorry to hear about the 3 guys that got ripped off.

For what it's worth, my experience with Mike has been top notch. Had a
problem with a purchase (not pinball related) and he made good on it
immediately.

Hello all,
If you simply look at this post title and expect a flaming, but
please read this post fully before passing judgment on anybody. I am
going to be as diplomatic as I can about this... I am simply trying to
get an answer from this guy. I know he posts here often, but I can
assure you, he doesn't write many replies to emails...
OK... the thick and thin of it. On March 1th, I bid and won an
auction for four used as-is (keep this in mind...) pinball displays
from mrcrazy, or Greg if you prefer first names. FYI, here is the
auction:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=13727&item=6259878846
Of course, before bidding, I did my research... almost 98% feedback...
OK. I have seen worse, and nothing bad in a long time. I even checked
on RGP... AzarcadeGames was pretty pissed at him for a transaction in
2003... but that was 3 years ago, and nothing else. Everything looked
on the level.
I got the quote not long after, so, the next day, I paid the item in
full... a total of 55$ and change for the lot. So I waited to receive
them...
A week later, I started getting messages from 2 other Ebay members
stating that they also bid on other display auctions from Greg, and
said that they received total junk, in no way close to what the image
portrayed. I decided to see for myself and wait for the displays to
come in.
I finally received the package on March 29th, and much to my dismay,
the extremely poor packaging caused the displays to be completely
ruined... The displays were simply placed in a small cardboard box, one
inside the other, with no protection between them. Of course, the
inevitable happened... 3 displays had their glass nipple on the back of
the glasses broken clean off, and the last display was cracked right
down the middle... that sucked. And I know for a fact that the dislays
were OK before he sent them... the glass nipples were at the bottom of
the box.
I emailed Greg immediately to see what could be done, stating that
due to his poor packaging, the displays were all dead, and in no way
representative of the images on the auction. But this is where the shit
REALLY hits the fan...
At that point, Greg, you could have simply said "hey chump... too
bad... the auction said AS-IS"... and do you know what? I would have
probably said "OK, shit happens", repaired the displays with new glass
(the boards were nice), and even leave you a positive feedback, simply
because everything was by-the-book... even though it really sucked. But
no... you had to cross the line, didn't you... You sent me an email
less than 2 hours later stating the exact following:
"send them back & I'll replace them."
At that point, I decided that since his feedback was decent, and he
checked out on RGP, I would send them back. I sent them back on April
10th (I was out of town for a week on business). Out another 15$...
...and I haven't heard from him since.
I have sent 3 emails to him, and never got a response. So, I did what I
had to do... a Paypal dispute... which we all know gets you nowhere.
And to rub salt on the wound... he slaps me with a negative feedback,
stating the following:
"sold displays as-is & untested as auction states, he expected
working......"
Yes Greg... you did... but you are forgetting something... it was YOU
who asked me to send them back to be replaced. I never mentioned that I
fully expected them to work. I simply wanted displays that looked like
on the auction picture... not cracked. One of them had severe burn-in,
and I still bid on them. But where YOU crossed the line was when you
asked for them to be sent back, and never sent any back, nor even reply
to my emails.
This comes down to 2 scenarios...
1- You are not home, or sick, or something is keeping you from keeping
your own promise. I doubt this, as you have been active on RGP
lately...
or
2- You are a thief.
Now, this being said, I decided to write this here to give you a chance
to explain. I know you will see this, and I hope that the other 2
Ebayers will come forward with their claims as well.
A shady Ebay auction of your part is one thing Greg... I can deal with
that... but if your original intention was to deliberately manipulate
people that work hard for their money, that's just wrong.
I hope to get an explanation, and/or displays in the shown condition,
or simply my money back for the auction. I don't even expect the 15$ I
spent sending the displays back... I will be satisfied with the
displays or my 55$.
The ball is in your court.
