Another update:
I replaced the U10 socket (I didn't find anything obvious) with SIP sockets
and got the seven flashes and the game boots up great and I haven't gotten
any random resets or lockups.
As for the bad news, I put my Mr and Mrs Pacman MPU back in the game and now
the flippers, playfield display, and background sound do not work (although
I think the background sound is a settings issue)
I can't win today

Hey Guys,
I am having some trouble with a Bally Mystic MPU. Long story short is
that I was having the MPU lock-up about 15 minutes into a game and after
doing all of the other mods suggested by marvin3m, I decided to replace
all of the IC sockets.
I replaced all of them and got the dreaded LED stuck on at power up.
Well, after about 4 hours of troubleshooting, I found two traces shorted
together under the CPU socket.
I fixed the traces, powered back on and got the initial flicker, the first
flash, and then the second flash stuck on. Looking through the guides,
there isn't too much info for when a flash gets "stuck on". I am leaning
towards a problem with the 6810 RAM or the 5101.
Anyone have any suggestions on what to look for. I have some spares of
these components that I will try, but I haven't run across the flash
getting stuck before.
thanks,
Eric
