Re: Why did you choose your handle?

I'm a bigmouth. I understand this, and I don't deny it...I embrace it
as being a part of who I am. I shoot from the hip, and like it or not,
agree or disagree, I mean what I say, and for the most part, I say what
I mean.

To me, having an opinion is an important thing, as is being able to
articulate that opinion, accepting that some will agree, and others
will not. Those like me, who don't exactly mince words, *should* be
willing to stand behind what they say. I'm certainly not always
correct, and my opinion will even be occasionally changed (*very*
occasionally), but I find it annoying when people make statements that
they're not willing to stand behind in so simple a way as to include
something that definitively identifies them.

I honestly don't care what "Mister Mystery Guest" is saying, as I just
disregard those who choose not to be real, or at least distinguishingly
identifiable. I can appreciate those who do have a moniker, yet are
accessible and don't *really* hide behind their shadow names. Those
who want to know who Koz, Korn, Wolffy, YBX, or others actually are
need only ask. These folks, and folks like them, aren't shy about
claiming to be who they are, so to speak.

I remember Louis Koziarz's assessment of me quite well. He may not
appreciate what I have to say a lot of the time (which can probably be
said about me by a number of people), but he does appreciate that I
stand up and identify myself in everything I write, even if I sometimes
write things in a poorly-thought-out, or even downright
mean/disrespectful manner. There are times when I wish I could phrase
things differently, and there are times which I wish I *had* phrased
things differently, but I've written what I've written, and it's for
the record, good, bad, or indifferent.

And by the way, that's something that I can genuinely say that I
respect about Louis.

But anyway, being the loudmouth that I am, I feel it's only right to be
readily identifiable with my words. No fake account, no nom de plume,
no changing writing styles to attack under a pseudonym...nope. Life is
much easier if you just tell the truth all the time, and stand behind
what you say, unless you are, in fact, wrong. Then, you *admit* that
you're wrong...not deny that you ever were, or delete posts, or what
have you.

I figure that those who complain need to be willing to stand up and be
seen, rather than lurking in the shadows. In the same respect, those
who complain must *also* be fair and praise what they find to be good,
too. It cuts both ways, and those who like to hide fall into my "Big
Waste Of Time" category. I like to think that I'm willing to both
praise and complain in a fair fashion, and even with a good sense of
humor, all out of love for the game.
