You must be talking about the $300 pinball by Zizzle made by Popadiuk.
Not much known about that yet.

They are saving the "comic" theme for The Marvel Universe pin next
year. It will feature many of the most popular heroes, and you will be
able to update the code so you can fight even more villians with even
more heroes! George Perez will do the playfield art depicting a dozen
or so classic battle-royales.

I've been jonez'd for a Steve R Spidey-themed since they "announced"
(read "leaked") it.
But then I started thinking... ***, are they going to theme it from
the movies??? OR from the comics? Big difference here. Though they did
a wonderful job (for the most part) with the art package for LOTR- they
have demonstrated some pretty poor art pkg judgement with others (gee-
MPT seems to some to mind).
The last thing I'd want to see is a bunch of artwork with Mcguire or
whomever plastered all over the game when the boys at Marvel could do
such a better job. I'm guessing they are pursuing a Columbia pictures
movie theme- and not the Marvel comic theme. While this would lead to
an easier and perhaps better sound pkg- the art would suck. Look at the
games done in the past- Stallone, Baldwin, Eastwood, etc- they all
make lousy art.
And how about the costs of those licenses? Any Spidey themed pin is
going to have to go through Marvel anyway- so why add to that expense
in signing with Columbia / Sony if not necessary? The pin could link to
the same themes with the original Marvel villains- that are also in the
movies. You could ride on the backs of the 3rd movie release without
having to pay that extra money to Sony.
What I'm asking is- does it really bring anything to the table (pun
intended) for STERN to get in bed with the movie company over this? I
don't think so. Here's to hoping for a Spiderman COMIC based game -
screw the mobvie tie in.
