I have to concur,
With over 20 years of dealing with coin-op equipment (and a lifetime of
devices that use batteries) the one thing that seems to be the gold standard
(or copper in this case) is that older Duracells rarely leak, and newer ones
seem to still be ahead of the rest of the field.
I won't say they never leak, I've seen enough Duracells leak that I know
they're not perfect, but if I leave a battery in something and forget about
it, when I find it 4 years later if it's an Energizer I'll frequently have
acid damage, it's rare to have any damage with Duracells.
A few Duracells have leaked on me, but the ratio is so low compared to
anything else, they're my preferred brand.

Just took an ancient set of Energizers off a Sys 7 MPU - not sure how old
they are, but old enough the design on the cells are diferent than the
current design, and no 'expiration dates' on them
Look like brand new, no leakage. Sys 7 MPU is happy :)

Just bought a NIB Fluke Meter, think it's about 4/5 years old. Had its
factory fitted Energisers and one had leaked all over, even melting
some of the foam that pads the batteries fom the door. I won't be
buying Energisers in future!
