Does the game do the pause/click after about 3-4 seconds after power is
applied?

Hi folks. I have an 80a here (Rack Em' Up) that's making me think way
to hard. Here is what happens on power-up;
All 5 displays will show zero's for about 5-10 seconds.
After that, the last digit will go off on all displays; the others
remain zero's.
After that all the segments in all the displays will usually start to
flicker rapidly for a second or two.
Around 20 seconds or so after power-up, the top two will go out
completely (player 1+2)leaving the bottom two and the credit display
on.
Leaving the power on a little longer OR turning the game off and on
again will cause a blinking "1" to appear dimly in the 1st and 3rd
player displays and also the second digit from the left in the credit
display. This flashing "1" only appears in the one's digit of each
display but can be seen faintly in the 10's digits also of the player
displays. It flashes around three times a second indefinately. In order
to repeat this whole process, you have to wait a few hours otherwise
each off and on will just produce the flashing "1" immediately on
power-up.
As per Clay, I've done the power & ground mods, replaced the lower cab
cap, and triple-checked the tilt switches, slam and related diodes.
I've swapped displays, checked connections & continuity, booted without
the driver and reset boards attached. No corrosion, clean power and
ground at all the ic's on the main board. There are no shorts or opens
in any components on the coin door. I've also checked the reset section
thoroughly on the mb.
Without taking a logic probe to every chip, has anyone ever had these
symptoms with their 80/80a ? Thanks for your help! John.
