Re: For those who have seen the true greats play...

I know Neil pretty well and he definitely plays for fun. For the love
of game actually. I can't think of anyone who is a better competitor,
friend, someone willing to offer tips and knowledge of the game than
Neil. Neil is truly an ambassador for the game and if you got to
see/play with him then you know you've been with one of the best.

MCC is pretty solid as well. Just would like to see him at some of
these shows!

Your best bet is to catch them at an arcade rather than at a tourney. I
always knew one of the best in the world lived in my area because he
had GC everywhere. I read about him here before bumping into him at a
local arcade. I watched him play SWE1 for a few minutes and knew who he
was just by the way he played. Had never seen a picture of him, just
read about him here. I asked him if his name was Neil and he said yes.
I've run into him a few times since and he is a hell of a nice guy and
he doesn't mind if folks watch him.

The big difference is that these guys are all business. They don't play
for 'fun'. It's more knowledge of the games than skills, but the skill
part helps too. d:^) We play to get a high score. These guys start a
game after clearing their calendars for the week in case the game lasts
that long. It really has to be seen. I thought I was at least decent.
Now I know better.

My time as GC around here may be brief when I do get it, but meeting
guys like Neil and Mark C. more than makes up for that. Damb nice guys
and damb good pin players. What more could you ask for?
