ATT is back (at least for me). Since Sataurday until this morning, my
e-mails for Mr. Pinball Classifieds were blocked as spam. I even tried
removing the spam filter...no help. I complained to ATT (which is not
easy to do and get a live person on either the phone or e-mail) and
they finally fixed the problem. I guess the name "xmission" must mean
something that the average non-pinball person might perceive as
unacceptable. Who knows, but at least it's fixed.

Thanks for complaining to ATT. This may have made the difference because my
ISP has been working on getting att.net fixed for several days but hasn't
been able to get *any* response. I hope it is fixed. I'm tired of getting
hundreds of bounced messages and I'm unable to respond to any of them about
this!

Years ago I had AT&T phone service and the customer service got so bad I had
to go to my state utility regulators to solve the problem. Within 48 hours
I had my refund and everything was resolved. It's amazing what regulatory
agency fines will do. Because of this bad experience I will never do
business with AT&T again. It's really too bad because AT&T used to be a
good company with great service...but that was many, many years ago.

About the blocking of xmission.com--every once in a while my ISP will get on
a blacklist just because of the domain name. It really makes no sense.
Xmission was intended to be short for Transmission, as in transmitting
data. Instead some people think it has something to do with pr0n. By the
same logic, XP.com should be pr0n, xbox.com should be pr0n, etc.

The guy that started xmission is a co-worker from 15 years ago and he has
been a unix admin from way back. It's the only ISP I've found that will let
me do whatever I want on the server. They won't let me be root, but that's
ok because I don't want to be root on their system.

This has been fixed.

This is the result of a chain of events started with AOL automatically
deciding to block our email. All the bounced email caused our disk quota to
run out and when we regenerated our web page it failed.

AOL is proposing an email fee. They just raised their rates. Why anyone
still uses them is beyond me.

The AOL situation seems to be fixed since AOL has now been accepting email
for a few days, but right after they blocked us att.net started blocking
email. If you get your mail through att.net, mchsi.com, or insightbb.com,
then you may or may not get mail from us. If you were subscribed before but
you have not received mail in the last four days, then complain to your ISP.

I keep getting a few att.net, insightbb.com, and others trying to
resubscribe, thinking their email subscription was dropped. No so. Just
complain to your ISP to stop blocking your email from us.

The lateset ISP to jump on the bandwagon is yahoo. Last night we had over
500 bounced email messages from yahoo subscribers. If you received your
email through yahoo.com and did not get your email from us this morning,
then go complain to yahoo. Be aware that some people with non-yahoo
addresses are getting their mail forwarded through yahoo and are being
blocked as well.

Oh, and att.net is *still* blocking us.
