Re: Game Resets now Black Out

Glad to help- and glad you got it fixed. Yes- any slight sign of
overheating on those input wires/connectors means they need to be replaced.
I've had to replace quite a few pins/housings on these in recent years- all
seem to be on games that are/were left on 24/7 in the arcades or in some
homes- they just overheat with all those hours of being on.

Happy pinballing!

Hi Ray J.

Thanks for the infomation and the great web site. I did do some
testing first before replacing the bridges. Tested the wall power,
checked power plug-in, power box and checked for correct voltages at
TP3, TP8 and TP2. The only place I found incorrect was the voltage at
TP2, so by reading that is why I replaced the bridges. But as you said
it was a shotgun-guess. Now since I still have the same problem, but
total black out I took your sugestion and started testing for voltages
at the input side of the power board. The top red wire at j101 was a
little burnt, but not too bad. So it seemed, because as I pushed in at
that point to test for voltage the game flashed and came back on. Wow!
what looked like not a problem was. I replaced the connector and
header pins and now the game works great again. Thanks so much for
taking the time to respond to my question as it helped me alot. I am
still learning how to repair these games cause I feel if you own them
you must learn how to repair them.

Thanks............Mike Willett
