I used one to control my older hot tub, another to run my snow melt for
home.

I used one at work to be a pulse attenuator for a small hydro electric
plant. The auto sync device was sending too many raise/lower speed
pulses (non-adjustable) and would not let the turbine respond, so I
took the pulses in and buffered them out to the controls.

They are pretty cool for what you get and for what you pay. The fact
you can program them without software is a big plus.
