Hmm. I always knew that the guy was eccentric, and there was no
*question* that his prices were quite high, but this is interesting.

That is, indeed, very wrong. Again, this doesn't necessarily
*surprise* me, since it's pretty much the modus operandi of every
operator known to man around here, but it's *still* very wrong.
>So Mario, if you're out there, I hope your
>business burns. Oh wait, IT DID BURN.
>hahahahahahaha!
Unfortunately, it didn't burn *down*. I went there the day of the fire
to see what damage had actually been done to the place (and possibly to
pick up a bargain board or two...who knows?), and the fire was *so
stinking minor*, I just laughed. He and his place had *made the news*
like he was some kind of hero or something, as he'd *turned off the
games* when the fire was detected, so everyone got out safe. This
wouldn't have been hard to do even without powering off the machines,
as the place was *always* DEAD EMPTY. The fire was about 5 feet
square, and just did some minor damage to the exterior, and some smell
damage to the interior. By the time I got there, they were open for
business, and the only noticable things were the smell, and the
machines that were there to de-ioninze the place to get rid of the
smell. I didn't even *see* the exterior plywood until someone pointed
it out to me.
>(Sorry, just had to vent.)
And that's understandable, seeing as how you were treated. I, too, was
treated poorly by Mario, but I kind of deserved my poor treatment, but
I know *several* people who've been treated badly by the guy. He's not
just eccentric, then...he's mean/wrong.
Plus, the guy just didn't run the place well. It seemed like every 6
months he was always changing the second room from redemption to video
games, and then 6 months later, he'd change it back. New equipment was
*very* rare, and he needed the new stuff to draw in the people who kept
seeing the *exact same machines* priced at their highest levels *every
time* they'd go there! Wow! Daytona USA for $1.25! Hydro Thunder for
either $.75 or a buck! Um, hello, Mario? This is intelligence
calling...don't you think you could use some machines from the new
millenium? Hmm?
Glad I've never bought any of his overpriced crap. His Riverboat
Gambler this past Christmas season was priced at either $2K or
$2500...I can't remember which. What a nut.
