BK Questions: Pop Bumper Lamp & "Whistling"

Question #1 - When I got my BK it did not have a Lamp Socket in the Pop
Bumper. I added a lamp socket to it (ground wire on the bottom toward
the back of the PF and 2 red w/yellow stripe wires on the portion under
the PF that is closes to the flippers. The 2 red wires are connected
and screwed to the PF. There is a diode coming off of the 2 red wires.
I connected one lamp socket lead to the end of the diode and the other
lead to the ground wire.

During Attract Mode, it "dances" with the arrow lamps that points to
the Drop Targets. It will go OFF and then come on when the PF lamps
are lit (starting from the bottom by the flippers and working up to the
climax at the Pop Bumper. Does everyone else's work like that?

During Game Play, it appears the Pop Bumper lamp is always lit - as if
its a GI Lamp - is that correct, does it do "something" during game
play?

Question #2 - When I achieve "something" the speech and sound quit and
the game starts to "whistle" at me...slow whistling and then ends up
almost in a "wolf howl". Does anybody else's BK does this? What is it
that I'm "achieving" that is causing it to "whistle" at me?

I've read some posts that mention the Pop Bumper socket is and is NOT
installed in the game. After playing the game without and with the Pop
Bumper lamp, I can't see how the game is played w/o the Lamp Socket as
that Upper PF is just too darn DARK (unless the room is lit up). I'm
definately glad I took the Hour to install the lamp socket...I only
wish I had done it 6 months ago.

Merry Xmas
