I usually strip the playfield down all the way to clean the game when doing a restoration. since I have a working Black Knight, I didn't bother to take pictures. the "loop around" area of a black knight has a "divider" that causes the ball to loop around when making that shot.
I wasn't paying attention and put in the more rounded end of the divider towards the flippers rather than the more pointier end. the result? the ball jams when attempting to go around the loop. I had to completely dismantle the upper playfield to get to the divider so I could flip it end for end. make sure the more narrow end of the divider is pointing towards the flippers or the ball won't make it around the loop. what a pain in the neck that was to remove the upper playfield just to flip the stupid thing to how it was supposed to be. and here I thought I was done with this shop job. jeesh. at least I'm pretty quick at removing the upper playfield on a Black Knight.
