I find the newbie term extremely offensive. I'm one of the newbie persons
mentioned in one of the posts that buys *dead* machines and has fun
making them work again. These are ones I buy for $200 or less. They're
fun, not perfect, not NOS, not NIB. So what? I have fun, most of my
friends don't own one (or more) so they are impressed and it gives me
something to keep me occupied. I've learned so much from this newsgroup
and the web - plus made a few hobbyist friends along the way.
If you're talking some newbies that buy 2-3k machines - I'm not sure how
they even ruined the hobby. So they buy expensive machines - someone has
to - just to keep the pinball manuafacturers alive...
Gonna try to find a hobby without assholes? Good luck, they come in all
shapes & colors! They exist in EVERY hobby. From the geeks to the know-
it-alls to the money people...I've been in the musclecar hobby for 2
decades - guess what - plenty there - along with the good ones.
Get over it.
