I remember 'Shadow of the Horned Rat' as being a great (But ***

I have it for PC and PS1. It was too hard to play with the PS1 controller
as to win it involved some very fine - read with a mouse - selection of
where to march troops to get an advantage. You also needed to discover the
magic items hidden in weird places to gain an advantage in future combats.
I also have a Microsoft Virtual PC machine running Windows 95 and Direct X
3 so I can play it occasionally.
Is that actually necessary to run it, or can you run it in XP using
Compatibility mode?
compatibility mode is a crap shoot. You either need the software
package to see what environment and graphics level it needed, or trial
and error on the 16 bit or 256 color, etc. I've had very little
success. I'm thinking Rob's idea with Virtual Machine is your best bet.
Myr :)
Okay, thanks. That nixes it on my notebook, though... it doesn't have
enough space left. But when I get my PC back up and running it should
be fine.
