I thought I had too. I'm pretty sure I haven't been seeing 90-95% of
your recent messages.
To know what percentage of what I've been posting you've been seeing
you'd
actually have to see 100% of what I'm posting.
I'm making a guesstimate here. Since I didn't filter out your name in
posts, I can see replies to you. I mean, heck, I read every post on
here, except the spam.
Ah! I see the problem now. I have you KF'd as "Robert Singers", but
not as "Rob Singers". Eh. Whatever, I'm not going to go change it.
Aside from the little "liar" line you're not being a jerk to me or
anything, so why filter you out? I might be missing out on something
useful.
another example of over intellectualizing yourself.
I'm still feeling out life here... From early on, I was taught to
analyze things, everything, and emotions weren't supposed to play a
part in factual analysis, right? Well, I screwed up there. I took it
overboard. So for a long time - and even still now - I tend to show
too much emotion at inappropriate times, and other times I don't
listen to emotions enough.
Um... that doesn't sound right. You probably don't have any clue what
I'm babbling about. I don't know if I do.
Anyway, point is, I'm still trying to figure out the appropriate
response to things like this. One response was to try to be nice
about it, explain my mistake, and carry on. Another was to flame him
in return. The third was to correct my mistake, realizing that any
other response would be compounding the mistake. Number three was the
right answer, but it took me some time to figure that out.
the correct response would be to lighten the hell up, and dont make a ten
page long synapsis. most of the time someones being venomous to you, its
because you probably deserve it. letting it roll off your back and giving a
quick funny, yet pertient retort would be the best way to handle it. for
instance:
youre a ***.
this is a three word response that is inherently disarming, no one will take
it serious, and will probably dismiss the entire post or make it into a
running gag, or something similar. in this manner you become less invasive
and people are less likely to throw you under the bus.
analysis is fine, but we dont need to hear it. feel free to analize all you
want. do it in the comfort of your own home, in your own studio. but in case
youve ever noticed, it gets you no friends, and no respect. because people
dont want to be privy to your overintellectualization of things that really
dont matter to us.
if you take anything i say to heart, let it be this: a kind word turneth
away much wrath, but a middle finger makes everyone laugh.
