as for erik i been thinking about what you said. and really want to
type so strong reply but i found out that smoking you out would be
easier than going after all your fault.
Once again, you miss the point and ignore your own faults to attack
someone else. You shoot the messenger because someone finally had the
balls to tell you what everyone was saying when you weren't in the
room. Maybe if they'd worried less about your feelings, things would
have turned out better.
i think you love a challenge
when so one say your a fraud or a sham, but that would be a insult to
everything you are a person. in the areana of 40k you only make the
same argurement about what someone say and does, really if that all
you can do then we got a problem.
I make more than one argument. If you're still hammering on the
gimmick thing, I picked up on that from other people commenting on it.
It's not my point alone.
could you agure more pure point
that may be i only play gimink armys is because they only work for
some people and not only me sir. that what i was really getting at the
most.
Gimmick armies work sometimes, sure; in fact, some work a lot of the
time. The problem is, your opponent will know he's playing a trick
army, and often the game will have a distinct lack of entertainment
for him. There's the problem. If you win, what does it matter if you
keep losing opponents? There's the real rub. Sure, everyone wants to
win, whether they admit it or not. But if I played Snakebites all the
time my winning record might be even more impressive, but I'd start
having a hard time finding an opponent, because frankly it's very
little fun to play Orks with BS3 rokkits and 7-pt Fearless models with
WS4, S4 (possibly S5), T4, and 2A, as well as the typical Cyborks,
Basilisk/Leman Russ, Battlewagon, Stormboyz, etc.
also this club thing you metion also, that i said yes i had a
problem because i thought i would be a better selection than hector
but, seening i never get more than 1 vote being myself that voted p^^
didnt help one bit. seeing the direction that it taking jumping ship
is probley the best bet.
Why? If you see a problem, you stand up and voice an opinion. You
can't always worry about whether it will make you popular in the short
run. If you really believe it's for the best you make a stand,
instead of running away.
Also, you don't know the direction the club's going. It ran into a
hickup, sure. But it's adding more members, some are coming back, and
ideas are starting to creep up. Hector's trying to do things that the
majority of club members will like, and he's going to introduce a LOT
of ideas this weekend. Beyond that, I really think Steve coming back
from overseas will help a lot.
i not much for holding gruages or burning
bridges in that way but man what next on the list of thing to get
people upset about something that i do. not to metion that everything
i type is bad to began with i cant spell well ok i see why people on
this site say that.
You could work to help stoke the fires that might be threatening to
burn those bridges. The first step would be accepting that there is
some valid criticism out there and you should seek it out and listen
to it. Start with the people you've trusted most, ask them if they
have some problems, ask them to be honest, and take it in. You'll
find people will open up to you a lot better.
As for this place, man, it's RGMW. You guys did no research on that,
did you? The only thing any of you know is I had an argument with
some guys on here. You didn't even realize that's been over and done
with for a long time. But more to the point, you don't know what this
place is. Graham McNeill called the Internet a shark pit, but RGMW is
THE Shark Pit. People here aren't cruel by nature, but yes they will
enjoy tormenting someone through any means they can. Why? Because
it's fun. Sure, that sounds callous, but it's human nature, and the
"damage" is contained, so to speak. More to the point, a lot of the
insults thrown about are casual and not meant to be insulting so much
as entertaining. The bar image works so well here. Imagine being at
a bar - or more appropriately, a pub - where the guys casually toss
insults back and forth, laugh at them, and grow closer through doing
so. Newcomers are put through the ringer and, should they hold up
under the barrage and come through it without breaking down and
crying, they become welcome patrons of the bar. There are so many
"feel-good" forums out there, so many forums for kids who talk with
barely coherent "Net-speak", or fanboys who defend GW to the end, or
people who whine about every new release even when it's a good thing.
SOME place has to be different. This is it.
beside that it been fun for a guardian of the store that closed,
restart next year with something new and better. get people to not sit
with there hand tied all the time because they have lives out side of
a game. sorry to end this but i got to go ending with this is passion
is one of the greatest tool to moviate people to really good a t
playing something were so many different people play and have such a
range of army to play against.
I don't quite understand all of what you're saying here, but I think
you're trying to make a point that people should be active even if
they're prevented normally from coming to the store. Which is
something I'm all for, hence my vocal postings on the forum, but the
problem is that people say, "Hey, you're not here, why are you saying
anything about the club?" Because someone has to. I don't know why
people hold me up as THE role model, and feel I am the lead to follow.
Hector's the president, I'm just the guy who takes notes. But if
something important prevents me from getting to the store, why should
my opinions then be any less valid than someone who sits and presents
no ideas or opinions whatsoever? Therein lies the problem. In all of
this trying to be nice and not upset some status quo, people become
complacent and then end up shooting the messenger when they state a
problem and how to correct it. But for all the shots I took, THE
MESSAGE GOT THROUGH. I won't claim I'm the bravest guy around, or the
best, but I took a chance on getting lambasted and it worked. If more
people stood up and didn't worry about rocking the boat, it'd be a lot
better. But hey, for now one person rocking it violently worked. You
need to do that. You need to ask people what their honest opinions
are, and you need to rock the boat if you think things are stagnant
and there's a problem. You got your own little club started now, and
that's fine and all, but you can't afford to be complacent there
either. Someday I might check out what you have going; I can
literally walk up there in minutes, it's right outside my
neighborhood. But for now, I like the club we've got, and I think it
will survive just fine.
