[WHFB] Hypothetical Empire Army

So I got a bonus at my job, and my wife let me have 200 or so to spend on
whatever I want (the rest goes to something called a "kah-lodgefund" for the
kids, whatever that is)
Assuming I don't decide to spend this money on something better like a
guitar, a new tattoo, a python or any of a dozen things I should probably
spend it on, and that I don't mind throwing it away on a bunch of miniatures
that are likely to join the 300 or so others that are sitting in various
states of unpaintedness in the basement, what do you think about the below
model-driven army list:
Empire General, mounted, barding, Sword of Righteous Steel (Always +2 hit),
Dawn Armor (4+ save, reroll failures), doomfire Ring (power 3 Burning head
spell), SV on 2+ -- 196 pts
Warrior Priest, Hammer of Judgement (auto-wounds, no saves on failed
toughness test), Armor of Metoric Iron (1+ armor save) -- 140 pts
Battle Wizard 1, Amythist College, lvl 2, Armor of Tarnus (6+ armor save, 5+
ward, can cast spells), Chrystal Ball (all secrets within 24" reveled) --
150 pts
Battle Wizard 2, Bright College, lvl 2, Dispell Scroll x 2 -- 150 pts
Knightly Orders, 8 with command, lances, shield, full plate, barding,
Knights of Inner Circle, 1+ save -- 248 pts
Pistoliers, 5 with command, brace of pistols -- 104 pts
Handgunners, 10 with command, repeater handgun for marksman -- 115 pts
Another unit of Handgunners, 10 with command, repeater handgun for
marksman -- 115 pts
Spearmen, 20 with command, shield -- 140 pts
Swordsmen, 20 with command, shield, War Banner (+1 to combat rez) -- 170 pts
Flagellants, 15 with Prophet of Doom, flails -- 160 pts
Great Cannon -- 100 pts
Another Great Cannon -- 100 pts
Helblaster volley gun -- 110 pts
Total: 1998 pts
So, if I buy all these things from someplace like the warstore (20%
discount), use some store credit I have at another place, I can get all of
this for ~ $220 shipped.
The majority of it comes from the reinforcement and battalion boxes. Throw
in a great cannon, a state trooper box each for handgunners and swordsmen, a
general, and the priest, and it looks like I'm set.
Basic use would be: shoot things from a distance, use the pistoleers as
harrasers, defend the guns with the spearmen, distract/divert/deter with the
flagellants, and use the swordsmen as the anvil to the cav's hammer. Am I
way off base with this? Do I even want to do this? Will I be sitting looking
at this big mass of miniatures 6 months from now going "Man, I wish I would
have spent it on hookers and blow!"?
