Ok, I just got my head ripped off and eaten in my last 40K game. Anyone ever tangle with 1750 points of 'Nids that consists of 8 monstrous creatures and Genestealers?

Godzilla army for your first game? Nice!

Several observations:
1. Harlequins are the Eldar Genestealers. Nine Harlies took out two Carnifexes, 7 Genestealers, 1 Tyrant, and 3 Tyrant Guard, which is why I didn't lose that badly.

Take more Harlequins!

2. Scorpions SUCK. At least, they do when they consistently fail 5 out of 7 armor saves. Twenty scorpions died without getting in hand to hand.

Fortune them?

3. The new Fire Prism ain't bad. BS4, and that big laser hurts.

Too bad it misses 1/3 of the time. :(

4. Pathfinders are really dangerous.
5. Eldar cannot absorb fire like CSM can!

:)

6. The Dire Avenger keep the enemy between 12" and 18" game doesn't work against Fleet opponents that consistently roll 5's and 6's for their Fleet distance.

Dire Avengers are good to kill Genestealers, but that's about it.

So, any suggestions? I'm more likely to encounter this army again with my usual force, which is Black Legion.

Black Legion will be fine. Have plenty of AP weapons for the big bugs, along with some Heavy Bolters for the small stuff.
