Re: Anders Kierulf threatening German Go Guru for endorsing Moyo Go Studio

Hi everybody,

Frank posted that snipped without my allowance, violating copyright law AFAIK. I decided to quote the complete mail here (a few remarks to the reader in []-braces):

<quote>

Hi Frank,

I had read your usenet post talking about your mental problems, so I was afraid you could react like that.
I mean, if I was in your position with a very paranoid attitude, I would also think about that new link between me and Microsoft.
But it isn't as you think.

The first mail I ever recieved from Microsoft (and, to make it clear, the first one I ever WROTE to them was the response, a few days later) was on 7th of April, which is AFTER we talked about go-programming ideas (with "talked" meaning that I WAS SHARING MY IDEAS WITH YOU, as you didn't tell me anything from you, which I could perfectly understand).

The only reason I asked you about your thoughts was my interest in Go - this is why I told you about mine so freely...

And, one more thing - do you really think I'd tell you about being invited by Microsoft if I wanted to spy on you - how stupid do you expect me to be...

I told you that because I'm an honest guy, and because I knew you might suspect me - so I wanted to talk with you immediately to make it clear - because I would feel very strange talking with you without letting you know...

Two things in that sentence disturb me:
First of all, I wrote you I'll send you that file once I'm at home - I just DON'T TAKE ANY FILE WITH MY WHEN I VISIT MY GIRLFRIEND... And I will still send that file to you, no matter what you'll decide about my copy.
Second, you didn't give any condition at all when sending me that copy - especially not about an audio-file, which you didn't ask for UNTIL THIS WEEK [remark: he sent me that copy on 25th of march], so your claim is just false.
To remind you, you gave it to me because of my suggestions and ideas and because I have a high reputation in Germany. Actually, I already told many of my friends and students how much I like your software - I also gave some the link to you free games, which will also lead them to your software (I got threatened by Anders Kierulf after my post to the computer-go mailinglist, but that is another story...)[I probably exaggerated with the word "thread" - you can read the original in Anders' post and judge it yourself...]

> Give the copy back and let me never hear from you again in a negative
> manner, or you will regret it for the rest of your life.

In Germany, a threat like this would give you much trouble, and I hope you don't mean it like it sounds.
But sure, I will send it back if you still want me to.
It would be sad for me to be no longer able to use your great software, but I think you might also regret it, as I couldn't continue to praise your software everywhere...

Regards,
Benjamin

So Frank, I deinstalled your software and either destroy the DVD or send it back to you (you pay the shipping), if it makes you happy to force back things you gave me as present because you are making money with my ideas...

Now leave me allone and get yourself a good doctor,

Benjamin
