Always good to see I'm not the only trouble maker here. Perhaps we could do with a bit of discipline in the UK grades.
You can find these ranges in most European country's rating lists :) It's not an issue that keeps me awake at night, but I feel people ought to be at least aware of the differences. I'm not sure if I was a tournament director I would tell somebody off for entering at an unseemly grade. That said I was a little amused to see the UK's treatment of the gotha program on the results page of the British Open this year. I wonder what the author thought of it.
The comment was fine - except that "unrealistic" needs to be replaced by "realistic" ! Even then, (because of our isolation) I wonder about the ratings of UK players. Thanks for pointing out that page. .
