e23 will let you re-download everything you've bought from them in the
past so this shouldn't really be a problem even with poor backup
procedures.

What I would have liked to see is a cheaper package deal when you're
buying both the PDF and the hardcopy of a given book. Perhaps
something like this will emerge as the PDF market matures.
