He may refuse to fill it if he thinks something's faked about it or if
it conflicts with something else the patient is taking. Otherwise, he
follows the doctor's orders to the letter. There is no leeway.
A couple of months ago I ran into this. The doc miswrote the script,
the substance listed in it isn't available. The pharmacist knew
exactly what it should say but he couldn't provide it, he had to
contact the doc and get it reissued. The problem was the doc listed
the desired substance and omitted the fact that it comes with a methyl
group attached.
