So what? I'm more interested in people.

You think the market benefits something other than people?

It benefits some much more than others.

It benefits all, even the poorest. Destroy the market, and you
directly harm those you claim to wish to protect. It is that
simple.

Destroy the stock market, and most americans lose their
retirement. Since most americans are invested in the stock
market, whether they realize it or not.

I'd love to see a law that says no business can hire anyone at
a salary less than 1% that of the total compensation of the
highest paid executive.

You'd love to see jobs disappear and unemployment skyrocket? You
must be a compassionate conservative, short of suffering to
watch in your neighborhood.

While I'm the last person to advocate more ill-considered
regulation, you can't seriously think that trimming the
bloated salaries of CEOs would have some sort of
catastrophic impact on the rest of us.

How can you think it wouldn't?

CEO salary is
mostly a function of corporate officers having the power in
corporations, and so making sure they are well taken care
of, and the stockholders can just take it in the wallet and
like it.

Except the shareholder can vote in a new board, if they don't like
how the current board is running things. Once again, you
demonstrate that you simply do not understand how the real world
works. This is why normal people do not take you seriously.
