I haven't looked at Alpha 3, yet. Largely because I wasn't imbued with
confidence by the earlier versions. ;)

It's a bit fiddly, but it's clearly a powerup. Options for AC,
extra attack, attack bonus, damage bonus, movement, DR, all as you
need it, but not stacking.

Here's what I'm thinking, though: it's better, but fiddly, and so why bother
when you could move to a system like Fourth Edition where things are better,
but clearly less fiddly?

I mean, these rage-point powers are *more complicated* than the fighter
powers we've seen, and I have no confidence that they're balanced against
other classes. Plus, the barbarian has never been so complex to play - can
you imagine how crap it would be to convert to the Pathfinder rules if you
were playing a barbarian because they were so simple?

and I doubt I'll mention it if someone creates a barbarian for my
game. I'd be more likely to let them know about the totem barbarians
from Unearthed Arcana, for instance.

I thought most of those where a step down, wouldn't have a hope of
competing with Bo9S types for instance.

Well, my game has a wizard, a cleric, a paladin, and a rogue, so . . . not
so much a concern.
