As several posts explained, there is no easy answer. You have to
answer the question for yourself.

You may find some inspiration helpful:

First, the GOOD/EVIL aspect:
Is someone hurt or killed by the removal of items from the tomb? Are
living guardians present, and are these guardians hurt or killed? If
you answer these questions with yes, then it's probably evil (that may
even depend on the guardian races). The act alone doesn't show much
dignity, so it may be evil. Of course, the kings is dead, so an act of
dignity may be lost on him.
Does the removal of items from the tomb help to protect others from
harm? If yes, then it's probably even good.

Second, the LAW/CHAOS aspect:
It is most likely, that tomb robbing is against the law in every
society and race. Are the characters part of the society (or race),
that build the tomb? If yes, then pilfering the riches certainly isn't
lawful. Even if you answer that question with a no, the act is most
likely chaotic, because it includes recklessness and arbitrary
actions. It isn't honorable (a lawful aspect). As someone mentioned in
an earlier post, you can easily construct a situation where "robbing"
a tomb may be lawful. The characters may get the order to do so from a
legitimate authority. If this is the case: Don't f*ck the paladin.

If the king wanted future generations to have his ...
Well, maybe it was placed there to be retrieved in times of need? Ahh,
most likely not. By the way, you stated the alignment of the king, as
if that mattered. Does it? Is stealing from a dead evil guy better
than stealing from a dead good guy? Is it even stealing? The guy is
dead. You can only harm the descendants or the society the guy was a
part of. Is anyone still alive from these people, who may feel
offended?

Many questions, no answers? Let me answer your question in a general
and in a highly contestable way: No. A paladin wouldn't do so.
