But I wonder, how many of you have games in which all your players are
using
computers, as well?

As both of my current campaigns are online, I assume they all are using
computers ;)

Of course, online gaming has it's own problems, as the players may
wander off (and for extended periods) to read email, web pages, etc.
then it's not their turn, slowing things down for other players.

At a table, I've used a computer only once (an old 286 portable with
the same "footprint" as most laptops); it took up too much space for
what it offered. OTOH, I've found my PDA rather handy at the gaming
table.

What do you use on your PDA in gaming?

Mainly advenutre prep: outlining adventures, NPCs, etc. I use it in
plae of my old solar powered calculator. While I have a dice rolling
program on it, I've never used it in a session. I have a spread***,
but since it can only generate one random number a ***, it has
limited usefulness in a game (I do have a *** for Traveller to
determine time to orbit and time to safe jump distance from a world).
Oh, and I have a really handy conversion program (knots <-> mph, cibif
ceet <-> cubic meters, etc) that I use a lot. But, for the most part, I
use my PDA before I game, not while I game.

There was one time a game store I ran an adventure that I hadn't
planned on running, only because I had my PDA. It was a GURPS WWII
adventure and on the PDA I had the Marine Raider template (for the PCs
to make a character), a list of what equipment the PCs had, a summary
of th eadventure, and a rough map of the island. None of these things I
had printed out. The players copied down the information they needed
from the PDA to a couple of blank character sheets and I sketched out a
copy of the map on a blank piece of paper. I think I used another sheep
of paper to keep notes and track of damage to Japanese soldiers,
scientists and Deep Ones.
