Methods to Repair a Broker Magic Item

I have spent the past day trying to find a way to for my character to
repair a broken Staff of Healing. So far it seems to be impossible but
I wanted to check with the experts to make certain. I tried finding a
FAQ for this group but couldn't find one. Also couldn't find any sign
that anyone else has asked this question. So what is the verdict? Am
I SOL as far as the rules are concerned?
